                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the notification of the entity having charge and
    1-3  control of public property that the property has been nominated for
    1-4  designation as a state archeological landmark.
    1-5        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-6        SECTION 1.  Section 191.092, Natural Resources Code, is
    1-7  amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
    1-8        (f)  Not later than the 20th day before the date on which the
    1-9  committee begins any review of property to determine whether the
   1-10  property is eligible for designation as a state archeological
   1-11  landmark under this section, the committee shall notify the public
   1-12  entity that has charge or control of the land in, on, or under the
   1-13  surface  of which the property is located.
   1-14        SECTION 2.  This Act applies only to property nominated for
   1-15  designation as a state archeological landmark on or after the
   1-16  effective date of this Act.  Property nominated for designation as
   1-17  a state archeological landmark before the effective date of this
   1-18  Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the property was
   1-19  nominated, and the former law is continued in effect for that
   1-20  purpose.
   1-21        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-22  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-23  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-24  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
    2-1  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
    2-2  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
    2-3  passage, and it is so enacted.
