A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to billing for an assessment by certain municipalities for
1-3 expenses incurred in relation to certain neglected property.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 342.007, Health and Safety Code, is
1-6 amended by adding Subsection (h) to read as follows:
1-7 (h) A bill for an amount assessed under this section may be
1-8 included on or with a bill for property taxes on the assessed
1-9 property.
1-10 SECTION 2. Subchapter A, Chapter 214, Local Government Code,
1-11 is amended by adding Section 214.004 to read as follows:
1-12 Sec. 214.004. BILL FOR ASSESSMENT. A bill for an amount
1-13 assessed under this subchapter may be included on or with a bill
1-14 for property taxes on the assessed property.
1-15 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-20 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-21 passage, and it is so enacted.

1-23 Amend H.B. 375 by Cuellar, Renato as follows:
1-24 On page 1, on both lines 9 and 14 following "property." add
2-1 the sentence:
2-2 "The inclusion of or failure to include a bill for the amount
2-3 assessed with a bill for property taxes does not alter or affect
2-4 the priority or date of attatchement of the lien, if any, for the
2-5 amount assessed."
