                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the membership of the HIV/AIDS Interagency Coordinating
    1-3  Council.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 85.017(b), Health and Safety Code, is
    1-6  amended to read as follows:
    1-7        (b)  The council consists of one representative from each of
    1-8  the following agencies appointed by the executive director or
    1-9  commissioner of each agency:
   1-10              (1)  the department;
   1-11              (2)  the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental
   1-12  Retardation;
   1-13              (3)  the Texas Department of Human Services;
   1-14              (4)  the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse;
   1-15              (5)  the Texas Rehabilitation Commission;
   1-16              (6)  the Texas Youth Commission;
   1-17              (7)  the Texas Department of Criminal Justice;
   1-18              (8)  the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission;
   1-19              (9)  the Texas Commission for the Blind;
   1-20              (10)  the Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hearing
   1-21  Impaired;
   1-22              (11)  the Department of Protective and Regulatory
   1-23  Services;
   1-24              (12)  the Central Education Agency;
    2-1              (13)  the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners;
    2-2              (14)  the Board of Nurse Examiners;
    2-3              (15)  the Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners;
    2-4              (16)  the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners; <and>
    2-5              (17)  the Health and Human Services Commission; and
    2-6              (18)  the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
    2-7        SECTION 2.  As soon as possible after the effective date of
    2-8  this Act, the executive director of the Texas State Board of
    2-9  Pharmacy shall appoint that board's representative to the HIV/AIDS
   2-10  Interagency Coordinating Council.
   2-11        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   2-12  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   2-13  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   2-14  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   2-15  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   2-16  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   2-17  passage, and it is so enacted.
