                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to information about a registered voter that may be
    1-3  obtained by a domestic relations office from state voter
    1-4  registration records.
    1-5        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-6        SECTION 1.  Section 151.011, Human Resources Code, is amended
    1-7  by amending Subsection (d) and adding Subsection (f) to read as
    1-8  follows:
    1-9        (d)  The Department of Public Safety, <or> the Texas
   1-10  Employment Commission, or the office of the secretary of state may
   1-11  charge a domestic relations office a fee not to exceed the charge
   1-12  paid by the attorney general's office for furnishing records under
   1-13  this section.
   1-14        (f)  A domestic relations office is entitled to obtain from
   1-15  the office of the secretary of state the following information
   1-16  about a registered voter to the extent that the information is
   1-17  available:
   1-18              (1)  complete name;
   1-19              (2)  current and former street and mailing address;
   1-20              (3)  sex;
   1-21              (4)  date of birth;
   1-22              (5)  social security number; and
   1-23              (6)  telephone number.
   1-24        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1995.
    2-1        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
    2-2  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
    2-3  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
    2-4  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
    2-5  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
