No. 1472 1-2 (In the Senate - Received from the House May 1, 1995; 1-3 May 2, 1995, read first time and referred to Committee on Economic 1-4 Development; May 22, 1995, reported favorably by the following 1-5 vote: Yeas 8, Nays 0; May 22, 1995, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to certain insurance coverage available through the Texas 1-9 Automobile Insurance Plan Association. 1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-11 SECTION 1. Section 4(c), Article 21.81, Insurance Code, is 1-12 repealed. 1-13 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1995, and 1-14 applies only to an insurance policy delivered, issued for delivery, 1-15 or renewed after January 1, 1996. A policy delivered, issued for 1-16 delivery, or renewed before January 1, 1996, is governed by the law 1-17 as it existed immediately before the effective date of this Act, 1-18 and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. 1-19 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-20 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-21 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-22 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-23 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. 1-24 * * * * *
