By Junell H.B. No. 1620 74R6082 CAG-D A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to licensing and examination fees of veterinarians; 1-3 imposing a fee. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. The Veterinary Licensing Act (Article 8890, 1-6 Revised Statutes) is amended by adding Section 25 to read as 1-7 follows: 1-8 Sec. 25. (a) The following fees imposed by or under another 1-9 section of this Act are increased by $200: 1-10 (1) any examination fee established by the Board; and 1-11 (2) any license renewal fee established by the Board. 1-12 (b) Of each fee increase collected, $50 shall be deposited 1-13 to the credit of the foundation school fund and $150 shall be 1-14 deposited to the credit of the general revenue fund. This 1-15 subsection applies to the disposition of each fee increase 1-16 regardless of any other provision of the law providing for a 1-17 different disposition of funds. 1-18 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1995, and 1-19 applies only to an examination fee or license renewal fee paid on 1-20 or after the effective date of this Act. An examination fee or 1-21 license renewal fee paid before September 1, 1995, is governed by 1-22 the law as it existed immediately before the effective date of this 1-23 Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. 1-24 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 2-1 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 2-2 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 2-3 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 2-4 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
