    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to allowing the holder of a brewpub license to participate
    1-3  in an organized competition, review, or judging.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 74.01, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is
    1-6  amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
    1-7        (g)  The holder of a brewpub license may deliver malt liquor,
    1-8  ale, or beer manufactured by the holder to a location other than
    1-9  the holder's premises for the purpose of submitting the malt
   1-10  liquor, ale, or beer for an evaluation at an organized malt liquor,
   1-11  ale, or beer tasting, competition, or review.  At a tasting,
   1-12  competition, or review, a holder of a brewpub license may:
   1-13              (1)  dispense without charge malt liquor, ale, or beer
   1-14  manufactured by the holder to a person attending the event for
   1-15  consumption on the premises of the event; and
   1-16              (2)  discuss with a person attending the event the
   1-17  manufacturing and characteristics of the malt liquor, ale, or beer.
   1-18        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-19  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-20  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-21  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-22  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-23  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-24  passage, and it is so enacted.
