                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the photographing and fingerprinting of certain inmates
    1-3  released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on parole or
    1-4  mandatory supervision.
    1-5        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-6        SECTION 1.  Article 42.18, Code of Criminal Procedure, is
    1-7  amended by adding Section 29 to read as follows:
    1-8        Sec. 29.  If a parole panel requires a person released on
    1-9  parole or mandatory supervision to reside in a county other than
   1-10  the county in which the person was sentenced, the parole officer
   1-11  supervising the person, not later than the third business day after
   1-12  the date the person is required to initially report to the officer,
   1-13  shall accompany the person to the sheriff's office in the county in
   1-14  which the person is required to reside.  The sheriff's office may
   1-15  photograph and take fingerprints of the person and maintain the
   1-16  photographs and fingerprints in the records of the office.
   1-17        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1995.
   1-18        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-19  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-20  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-21  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-22  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
