H.B. No. 2068 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to tuition paid by air force personnel for certain courses 1-3 at Midwestern State University. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 54.058, Education Code, is amended by 1-6 adding Subsection (h) to read as follows: 1-7 (h) United States Air Force personnel stationed outside the 1-8 State of Texas who are enrolled in the bachelor of science or 1-9 master of science degree program in radiological sciences at 1-10 Midwestern State University by instructional telecommunication will 1-11 be entitled to pay tuition fees and other fees or charges provided 1-12 for Texas residents if they began the program while stationed at an 1-13 Air Force base in Texas. In this subsection, "instructional 1-14 telecommunication" means instruction delivered primarily by 1-15 telecommunication technology, including open-channel television, 1-16 cable television, closed-circuit television, low power television, 1-17 communication and/or direct broadcast satellite, satellite master 1-18 antenna system, microwave, videotape, videodisc, computer software, 1-19 computer networks, and telephone lines. 1-20 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1995. 1-21 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-22 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-23 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-24 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 2-1 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
