                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to eligibility requirements for election judges or clerks
    1-3  in a school district election.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 23.07, Education Code, is amended by
    1-6  adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
    1-7        (c)  A person is ineligible to serve as an election judge or
    1-8  clerk in a school district election if the person is an employee of
    1-9  the school district.
   1-10        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1995.
   1-11        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-12  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-13  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-14  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-15  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
