                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the sponsorship of professional bowling tournaments by
    1-3  alcoholic beverage manufacturers.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code is amended by
    1-6  adding Section 108.09 to read as follows:
    1-7        Section 108.09. Sponsorship of Professional Bowling
    1-8  Tournaments.  Notwithstanding any other provision of this code or
    1-9  any rule adopted under the authority of this code, a manufacturer
   1-10  may purchase advertising at and sponsor professional bowling
   1-11  tournaments that involve professional participants, including
   1-12  providing prize money for the winners of such tournaments.
   1-13        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-14  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-15  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-16  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-17  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
