No. 3185 1-2 (In the Senate - Received from the House May 10, 1995; 1-3 May 11, 1995, read first time and referred to Committee on Natural 1-4 Resources; May 25, 1995, reported favorably by the following vote: 1-5 Yeas 6, Nays 0; May 25, 1995, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to travel expenses paid by the Hidalgo County Drainage 1-9 District No. 1. 1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-11 SECTION 1. The Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 may 1-12 not spend more than $30,000 for the payment of travel expenses 1-13 during a fiscal year. 1-14 SECTION 2. Chapter 1054, Acts of the 71st Legislature, 1-15 Regular Session, 1989, is repealed. 1-16 SECTION 3. The change in law made by Section 1 of this Act 1-17 applies only to the payment of travel expenses in a fiscal year for 1-18 the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 that begins after the 1-19 effective date of this Act. During the fiscal year current on the 1-20 effective date of this Act, the district may pay travel expenses 1-21 only in accordance with Chapter 1054, Acts of the 71st Legislature, 1-22 Regular Session, 1989, and that law is continued in effect for that 1-23 purpose. 1-24 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the 1-25 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-26 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-27 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-28 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. 1-29 * * * * *
