                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to creation of the County Court at Law No. 2 of Tom Green
    1-3  County.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 25.2281, Government Code, is amended to
    1-6  read as follows:
    1-7        Sec. 25.2281.  TOM GREEN COUNTY.  Tom Green County has the
    1-8  following <one> statutory county courts: <court, the>
    1-9              (1)  County Court at Law of Tom Green County; and
   1-10              (2)  County Court at Law No. 2 of Tom Green County.
   1-11        SECTION 2.  Section 25.2282, Government Code, is amended by
   1-12  adding Subsection (a) to read as follows:
   1-13        (a)  A judge of County Court at Law No. 2 of Tom Green County
   1-14  may not be assigned under Chapter 74 to serve as a visiting judge
   1-15  in Bexar, Dallas, Ector, Fort Bend, Harris, Jefferson, Lubbock,
   1-16  Midland, Tarrant, or Travis County.
   1-17        SECTION 3.  Notwithstanding Section 25.2281, Government Code,
   1-18  as amended by this Act, the County Court at Law No. 2 of Tom Green
   1-19  County is created January 1, 1997, or on an earlier date determined
   1-20  by the commissioners court by an order entered in its minutes.
   1-21        SECTION 4.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-22  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-23  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-24  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
    2-1  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
