No. 119 74R7501 PAN-D CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Ludora "Ludie" Perl Langston Kuempel 1-2 on January 2, 1995, at the age of 85, has brought great sadness to 1-3 the many friends and relatives of this beloved woman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native Austinite, she was born in the Capital City 1-5 on December 4, 1909, and remained a Central Texas resident 1-6 throughout her lifetime; and 1-7 WHEREAS, The devoted wife of Henry Kuempel, whom she married 1-8 on February 15, 1939, Mrs. Kuempel also was the loving mother of 1-9 two sons, our esteemed colleague Edmund Kuempel and Robert Kuempel, 1-10 in whose achievements she took great pride; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Her lovely home always served as a welcome retreat 1-12 for the members of her close-knit family as well as for her many 1-13 friends in the community, where her friendly nature and caring ways 1-14 had endeared her to all who were privileged to know her; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Mrs. Kuempel was a devout woman whose strong 1-16 handshake was symbolic of much else that was resolute within her; 1-17 her strong character, faith, and commitment to church and family 1-18 was legendary and her memory will long endure in the hearts of the 1-19 many people whose lives she touched during her years on this earth; 1-20 now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the 74th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-22 hereby pay tribute to the life of Ludora "Ludie" Perl Langston 1-23 Kuempel and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: 1-24 to her husband, Henry Kuempel; to her sons and daughters-in-law, 2-1 Edmund and Roberta Kuempel and Robert and Jamie Kuempel; to her 2-2 grandchildren, Margaret and Walter Brady and John Langston Charles 2-3 Kuempel; and to her many other friends and relatives; and, be it 2-4 further 2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-6 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-7 House of Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in 2-8 memory of Ludora "Ludie" Perl Langston Kuempel.
