                              HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, The passing of Seferino Cabrera Romo on September
    1-2  22, 1994, at the age of 66, has brought great sadness to the many
    1-3  friends and relatives of this esteemed resident of Chappell Hill;
    1-4  and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A native of Linares, Mexico, Mr. Romo was born
    1-6  January 8, 1928, to Victor and Maria Romo and, with their guidance,
    1-7  forged the enduring values of responsibility and hard work that
    1-8  would characterize his endeavors throughout his fulfilling life;
    1-9  and
   1-10        WHEREAS, After coming to this country, he distinguished
   1-11  himself as an industrious and conscientious employee during his
   1-12  tenure as an equipment operator for the Washington County Road and
   1-13  Bridge Department, winning the lasting admiration and respect of
   1-14  his fellow workers and management for his skills; he also was a
   1-15  farm and ranch worker for many years and was esteemed for his
   1-16  outstanding expertise and strong work ethic in this regard as well;
   1-17  and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Mr. Romo was dedicated to the needs of his
   1-19  close-knit family and, in partnership with his beloved wife,
   1-20  Soledad, reared three sons who have brought great pride to their
   1-21  parents with their achievements; this remarkable gentleman also
   1-22  took special delight in the relationship he shared with his two
   1-23  grandchildren and his large extended family in Texas and Mexico;
   1-24  and
    2-1        WHEREAS, A man of deep religious convictions, Mr. Romo was a
    2-2  cherished member of Emmanuel Iglesia Pentecostes Church, and it was
    2-3  his remarkable faith that allowed him to stoically endure kidney
    2-4  dialysis treatments for more than 17 years; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, Much loved by the residents of his community,
    2-6  Seferino Romo touched the lives of a great many people during his
    2-7  years on this earth and will long be remembered for his great
    2-8  warmth, integrity, and strength; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the 74th Legislature of the State of Texas
   2-10  hereby pay tribute to the life of Seferino Cabrera Romo and extend
   2-11  deepest sympathy to the members of his family:  to his wife,
   2-12  Soledad Romo; to his sons and daughters-in-law, Seferino and
   2-13  Rosalinda Romo, Daniel and Deanie Romo, and Joel Romo; to his
   2-14  grandchildren, Christen Ann and Seth Adrian; to his brothers, Jesus
   2-15  Cavazos, Pedro Romo, and Jesus Romo; to his sisters, Margret
   2-16  Moreno, Ludres Romo, and Lucille Romo; to his sister-in-law, Blanca
   2-17  Santana; to his special niece, Rosa Flores and her husband,
   2-18  Armando; to his special nephews, Martin and Stephen Romo; and to
   2-19  his special friends, Cruz and Olga Naranjo; and, be it further
   2-20        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-21  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
   2-22  House of Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in
   2-23  memory of Seferino Cabrera Romo.
