                              HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-2  honor Denise Ward for the noteworthy success she has enjoyed as
    1-3  co-owner and operator of Claire Lynn Designs with her sister, Dana
    1-4  Vaughn; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Denise Ward and Dana Vaughn come from a proud family
    1-6  of entrepreneurs and clothing designers, as their mother sewed all
    1-7  of their clothes when they were children, and their grandmother
    1-8  designed and manufactured jackets for Joske's Department Store; in
    1-9  addition, their father and both sets of grandparents were
   1-10  successful business owners; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Both sisters are active in all facets of the
   1-12  business and participate in the designing, quality control,
   1-13  management, and shipping of their product, and in testament to
   1-14  their outstanding business acumen and exceptional merchandise,
   1-15  their company has achieved resounding acclaim; in 1990 their
   1-16  venture was selected by the federal Small Business Administration
   1-17  as "The Young Entrepreneur of the Year" for Region VI, and it went
   1-18  on to become one of the top five nominees at the national level;
   1-19  and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Denise Ward and her sister, Dana Vaughn, have made
   1-21  Claire Lynn Designs a rising star in the DeSoto economy, and it
   1-22  gives the members of this chamber great pleasure to honor them for
   1-23  their outstanding achievements; now, therefore, be it
   1-24        RESOLVED, That the 74th Legislature of the State of Texas
    2-1  hereby honor Denise Ward for her outstanding accomplishments as
    2-2  co-owner and operator of Claire Lynn Designs and wish her continued
    2-3  success and happiness in all her future endeavors; and, be it
    2-4  further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-6  prepared for Mrs. Ward as an expression of high regard by the Texas
    2-7  Legislature.
