                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS,  The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
    1-2  honor the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of
    1-3  Commerce (TAMACC) for its outstanding efforts in behalf of the
    1-4  Hispanic community; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, This successful, nonprofit association was founded
    1-6  in 1975 to promote the participation of the Hispanic business
    1-7  community in Texas' economy, to provide a voice for its members on
    1-8  legislative issues, and to encourage new business enterprise; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, To achieve these worthy goals, the TAMACC provides a
   1-10  wide range of educational and technical services to local Hispanic
   1-11  chambers of commerce and also serves as a proponent of increased
   1-12  trade opportunities for Hispanic business in the expanding
   1-13  international market; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Recent programs developed by the TAMACC include the
   1-15  Corporate Partnership Program, designed to increase Hispanic
   1-16  representation at the upper management level of major corporations,
   1-17  and the Texas Business Center, a computer bulletin board system
   1-18  that connects members to business opportunities throughout the
   1-19  state, nation, and world; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Recognized as being in the vanguard of institutions
   1-21  helping the Hispanic business community, this excellent
   1-22  organization has provided valuable information, opportunities, and
   1-23  leadership to its members since its inception and is indeed
   1-24  deserving of special legislative recognition for its continuing
    2-1  efforts in this regard; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-3  Legislature hereby commend the Texas Association of Mexican
    2-4  American Chambers of Commerce for its exemplary contributions to
    2-5  the Hispanic business community; and, be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-7  prepared for the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of
    2-8  Commerce as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
    2-9  Representatives.
