                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas State Noodle Cookoff, which is hosted as
    1-2  part of the annual Giddings Geburtstag celebration, is the premiere
    1-3  festival of its kind in the state; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Renowned noodle experts from around the state
    1-5  converge on the city to display their remarkable creativity and
    1-6  expertise in the preparation of this traditional old-world staple,
    1-7  and their exceptional culinary creations are certain to delight
    1-8  even the most discerning palate; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, This crowd-pleasing competition is the central
   1-10  attraction at the Giddings Geburtstag and provides that spirited
   1-11  celebration of the community's cultural heritage with an event that
   1-12  not only has its roots in the Germanic traditions of the original
   1-13  settlers, but promises a Texas-sized portion of fun; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Creating an event that helps to illuminate the vast
   1-15  canvas of Texas culture in an entertaining and accessible manner is
   1-16  an accomplishment truly worthy of special praise and recognition;
   1-17  now, therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the organizers and participants whose tireless
   1-19  efforts have made the Texas State Noodle Cookoff a unique and
   1-20  highly successful event be honored for their exemplary achievements
   1-21  in this regard; and, be it further
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-23  Legislature hereby designate the Texas State Noodle Cookoff in
   1-24  Giddings as the official noodle cookoff of the State of Texas.
