                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, On December 31, 1994, Molly Theriot retired from her
    1-2  position as county clerk, having served the citizens of Orange
    1-3  County with integrity and dedication for more than 10 years; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Mrs. Theriot began her long and distinguished career
    1-5  in public service in August of 1962, when she gained employment in
    1-6  her local county clerk's office; the residents of Orange County
    1-7  later recognized her outstanding abilities and, on March 12, 1981,
    1-8  elected her to the position of county clerk; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Universally admired for her commitment to helping
   1-10  others, Mrs. Theriot has made many exemplary contributions to her
   1-11  community and profession; this fine Texan has worked closely with
   1-12  the County and District Clerks Association to make Texas government
   1-13  more responsive to the needs of citizens and has been an active
   1-14  member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for more than 20 years; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, In addition to her many civic and professional
   1-16  activities, Mrs. Theriot is a devoted wife and mother; she enjoys a
   1-17  happy and rewarding marriage with her husband of 38 years, Edward
   1-18  Theriot, and takes great pride in the accomplishments of her four
   1-19  children and 11 grandchildren; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, This exceptional public servant is respected by all
   1-21  those who have had the pleasure of working with her during her long
   1-22  and successful career, and her many noteworthy achievements indeed
   1-23  merit special recognition and commendation; now, therefore, be it
   1-24        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-1  Legislature hereby commend Molly Theriot on the occasion of her
    2-2  retirement as county clerk of Orange County and extend to her
    2-3  warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness in her
    2-4  future endeavors; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-6  prepared for Mrs. Theriot as an expression of high regard by the
    2-7  Texas House of Representatives.
