                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The recent death of F. F. "Pancho" Medrano, Jr., on
    1-2  January 18, 1995, at the age of 53, has brought a great loss to the
    1-3  many friends, relatives, and colleagues of this distinguished
    1-4  gentleman; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Born in Dallas on October 24, 1941, to F. F.
    1-6  Medrano, Sr., and the late Esperanza Medrano, this exemplary Texan
    1-7  was educated at St. Annes Catholic School and N. R. Crozier Tech
    1-8  High School before embarking on a successful career in business and
    1-9  labor relations; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, For nearly three decades Mr. Medrano was a loyal
   1-11  employee at Vought, where he earned the admiration and respect of
   1-12  his friends, coworkers, and supervisors; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Committed to improving working conditions within his
   1-14  industry, Mr. Medrano also was an active member and officer in
   1-15  several labor organizations; vice president of United Auto Workers
   1-16  Local 848, he also served as president of the Labor Council for
   1-17  Latin American Advancement and the Local CAP Council; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, In addition to his many professional duties, this
   1-19  exceptional individual worked tirelessly to make his community a
   1-20  better place in which to work and live; he took great pride in
   1-21  coaching sports activities for children and was much loved for his
   1-22  warmth and generosity; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Mr. Medrano was a devoted family man who enjoyed a
   1-24  happy and successful marriage of 31 years with his wife, Socorro
    2-1  Morales Medrano, and who cherished his five children and four
    2-2  grandchildren; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to know this remarkable
    2-4  man will not forget the compassion and commitment he brought to
    2-5  every facet of his life; though his presence is gone from us now,
    2-6  his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all those
    2-7  whose lives he touched during his years on this earth; now,
    2-8  therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-10  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of F. F. "Pancho"
   2-11  Medrano, Jr., and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his
   2-12  family:  to his wife, Socorro Morales Medrano; to his daughter, Mia
   2-13  Medrano; to his sons, Adam and Carlos Medrano; to his son and
   2-14  daughter-in-law, Frank Medrano III and Audrey Medrano; to his
   2-15  daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Martin Coronado; to his four
   2-16  grandchildren, Raquel Medrano, Veronica Medrano, Marisa Coronado,
   2-17  and Martin Coronado II; to his father, F. F. Medrano, Sr.; to his
   2-18  sister, Pauline Medrano; to his brothers, Robert, Ricardo, and
   2-19  Rolando Medrano; and to his many other relatives and friends; and,
   2-20  be it further
   2-21        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-22  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
   2-23  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-24  F. F.  "Pancho" Medrano, Jr.
