R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
1-2 who have shared 60 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a
1-3 memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Marvin and Ouida Borders recently had the privilege
1-5 of commemorating one such momentous event in their lives when they
1-6 celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 12, 1994; and
1-7 WHEREAS, United in marriage by the Reverend R. R. Preddy at
1-8 First Christian Church in Palmer in 1934, the couple has enjoyed an
1-9 enduring relationship that has grown in love and mutual respect
1-10 with each passing year; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Since their marriage began, Mr. and Mrs. Borders
1-12 have made their home in Ellis County, where they are exemplary
1-13 members of the community, enriching not only their own lives but
1-14 the lives of those around them with their devotion to each other;
1-15 and
1-16 WHEREAS, Mr. Borders is the son of Roy T. and Annie Borders,
1-17 and his gracious wife is the daughter of Urbin and Leva McKeever;
1-18 Mr. and Mrs. Borders are the parents of five fine children: John
1-19 Mac Borders, Thomas Marvin Borders, Jr., Joel Alan Borders, James
1-20 Stephen Borders, and Nancy Leanne Borders; and
1-21 WHEREAS, For 60 years, Marvin and Ouida Borders have shared a
1-22 strong and lasting union filled with many happy times and cherished
1-23 family memories; built on a foundation of mutual love, trust, and
1-24 support, their life together has been a source of joy and
2-1 inspiration for the many friends and relatives of this fortunate
2-2 couple; now, therefore, be it
2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
2-4 Legislature hereby congratulate Marvin and Ouida Borders on the
2-5 occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
2-6 sincere best wishes for continued joy and happiness; and, be it
2-7 further
2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-9 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Borders as an expression of high regard
2-10 by the Texas House of Representatives.
