H.R. No. 88 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The 1994 Port Isabel High School Tarpons football 1-2 team achieved outstanding success by completing the regular season 1-3 undefeated and earning a spot in the University Interscholastic 1-4 League Class 3A state playoffs; and 1-5 WHEREAS, After advancing through the early playoff rounds, 1-6 this superb Tarpon team ended its season in a semifinal contest 1-7 against eventual state champion Sealy High School and earned the 1-8 respect of fans and opponents alike; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The season's outstanding achievements were the 1-10 result of a total team effort and selfless contributions throughout 1-11 the course of the year from members Wes Abbott, Victor Aguillon, 1-12 Aaron Byrne, Oscar Del Abra, Roger Delgadillo, Ralph Delgado, Saul 1-13 Dominguez, Edgardo Francois, Alex Galvan, Alex Garcia, Ricardo 1-14 Garcia, David Garza, Noel Garza, Jimmy Gonzalez, Juan Hernandez, 1-15 Mike Hinojosa, Kenny Martin, Mathew Martinez, Johnny Mireles, Raul 1-16 Montalvo, Frank Niles, Jesus Ramirez, Hector Rodriguez, Joe Santos, 1-17 Eddie Santos, Lupe Valdez, Gabe Villarreal, J. C. Zamora, Edward 1-18 Hernandez, Andrew Lopez, Jose Mendoza, Zackary Reid, Victor 1-19 Rosales, Ralph Vela, Gilbert Verduzco, Lalo Alamo, Eric Galvan, 1-20 Frank Galvan, Roel Garza, Jason Martinez, Fred Mata, Jesus Molina, 1-21 Jim Leo Ochoa, Roel Rosales, Rey Spencer, Albert Barbarena, Americo 1-22 Delgado, Johnny Galvan, Gualberto Gonzalez, Ulysess Guevara, and 1-23 David Zamora; and 1-24 WHEREAS, Inspiration and tireless leadership were the 2-1 hallmark of head coach Tony Villarreal, and he was ably assisted in 2-2 his efforts by Eliseo Villarreal, Richard Rodriguez, Orlando 2-3 Garcia, Robert Holland, Jr., Jesse Villarreal, Victor Barrera, 2-4 Keith Stifflemire, Gary Staley, Gabe Pena, Cain Rosignol, Andy 2-5 Gonzalez, and Jesus Vasquez; and 2-6 WHEREAS, Other valuable off-the-field support was provided by 2-7 managers Perry Aby and Ruben Garza; and 2-8 WHEREAS, This exemplary group of young men and their coaches 2-9 and staff have been a tremendous source of pride for the students 2-10 and faculty at Port Isabel High School and their many supporters in 2-11 the community, and their exceptional accomplishments have 2-12 rightfully earned them special legislative recognition; now, 2-13 therefore, be it 2-14 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-15 Legislature hereby congratulate head coach Tony Villarreal and the 2-16 Port Isabel High School Tarpons football team on their superb 1994 2-17 season and extend to them best wishes for continued success in the 2-18 future; and, be it further 2-19 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared 2-20 for the members of the team and coaching staff and that a copy be 2-21 prepared for prominent display at Port Isabel High School as an 2-22 expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
