H.R. No. 89 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 1-2 who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a 1-3 memorable occasion deserving of special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Jacob Foster Yarter and Evelyn Hilda Sanders Yarter 1-5 recently had the privilege of commemorating this momentous event in 1-6 their lives when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary 1-7 on December 18, 1994; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Like many men of his generation, Mr. Yarter 1-9 responded to his country's call to arms during World War II, and 1-10 the couple married at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where 1-11 Mr. Yarter was stationed at the time; the service was conducted by 1-12 United States Navy Chaplain G. L. Markle, with Ruth McCloskey and 1-13 F. S. Pierce standing up for the happy couple; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Their marriage has been blessed with three children, 1-15 and under their parents' loving guidance, all three have grown to 1-16 adulthood and have started families of their own; Jay and Jan 1-17 Yarter, Jimmy and Mary Lou Yarter, and David and Jennifer Yarter 1-18 Emory undoubtedly join the members of this chamber in expressing 1-19 admiration and respect for Mr. and Mrs. Yarter's enduring union; 1-20 and 1-21 WHEREAS, In recent years, the family has grown to include six 1-22 grandchildren, Katherine, Dixie, Andy, Lavern, Tim, and Tiffany, 1-23 all of whom are a source of continuing joy and delight to their 1-24 proud grandparents; and 2-1 WHEREAS, For half a century, Jake and Lynn Yarter have shared 2-2 a marriage filled with many happy times and cherished family 2-3 memories; built on a foundation of mutual love and respect, their 2-4 remarkable union has been an inspiration to their family and 2-5 friends and is indeed worthy of highest praise and recognition; 2-6 now, therefore, be it 2-7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-8 Legislature hereby honor Jake and Lynn Yarter on the joyous 2-9 occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 2-10 warmest best wishes for many more years of continued happiness; 2-11 and, be it further 2-12 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-13 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Yarter as an expression of high regard by 2-14 the Texas House of Representatives.
