                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
    1-2  recognize the Plano High School Wildcats for winning the 5A
    1-3  Division 1 State Championship in football; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Exhibiting awesome talent and perseverance
    1-5  throughout the year, the team players and coach deserve to be proud
    1-6  of their efforts and outstanding performance; their record at the
    1-7  end of the regular season was seven and three with the Wildcats
    1-8  losing the last two games; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The team was down but rallied in the playoffs; it
   1-10  was never behind in points during any of the playoff games; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The Wildcats achieved the impressive goal of winning
   1-12  all five playoff games; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership of their coach, Gerald
   1-14  Brence, the Wildcats defeated some of the most formidable teams in
   1-15  the state; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Its capture of the division championship
   1-17  demonstrated the team's winning spirit, discipline, and courage; it
   1-18  ended the season with a 12-3 record; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The Plano Wildcats' exceptional skills, team unity,
   1-20  and respect for the highest ideals of American sportsmanship have
   1-21  brought honor to the school and the community; now, therefore, be
   1-22  it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-24  Legislature hereby commend the Plano High School Wildcats for their
    2-1  championship season and extend best wishes for the future; and, be
    2-2  it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for the
    2-4  Plano High School Wildcats as an expression of high regard by the
    2-5  Texas House of Representatives.
