                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Robert Nafis Qadim'asil, beloved son of Ernest and
    1-2  Judy Qadim'asil, passed away on June 28, 1993, at the age of 11,
    1-3  and his untimely death has brought great sadness to the many people
    1-4  who cherished him; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Born prematurely on September 6, 1981, at Herman
    1-6  Hospital in Houston, he remained in intensive care for nearly two
    1-7  weeks after his birth but rallied to achieve good health and enjoy
    1-8  a happy childhood as one of four children in this loving,
    1-9  close-knit family; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, An outstanding student, Robert was a well-rounded
   1-11  young man who made the honor roll regularly and participated in
   1-12  athletics, competing in summer track events with the Austin
   1-13  Striders, playing basketball for the Hornets, and studying martial
   1-14  arts; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Blessed with a genuine interest in helping others,
   1-16  Robert also was a dedicated Cub Scout who had achieved every badge
   1-17  and award possible for a boy his age and exemplified the highest
   1-18  ideals of scouting through his actions; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Robert Qadim'asil was an intelligent, responsible
   1-20  young man who faced a future bright with promise; though his
   1-21  presence will be deeply missed, his memory will long endure in the
   1-22  hearts of the many people whose lives he touched during his time on
   1-23  this earth; now, therefore, be it
   1-24        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-1  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Nafis
    2-2  Qadim'asil and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his
    2-3  family:  to his parents, Ernest and Judy Qadim'asil; to his
    2-4  siblings, Ernest, Yasmeen, and TajDeen Qadim'asil; to his
    2-5  grandparents, Eddie and Margery Ponder and Henrietta and Ernest
    2-6  Stevenson; to his aunts and uncle, Diane Ponder, Linda Ponder, and
    2-7  Maria and Monte Greene; to his great-great aunt, Mabel Kilpatrick;
    2-8  to his cousins, Nazlah Ponder, Nicole Ponder, and Mona Kai Greene;
    2-9  to his very special friend whom he regarded like a second mother,
   2-10  Jeri Baylor, and to his many other friends and relatives; and, be
   2-11  it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
   2-14  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-15  Robert Nafis Qadim'asil.
