                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Wednesday, February 8, 1995, marks the ninth
    1-2  symposium of Leadership 2000 and Leadership Fort Bend, a combined
    1-3  group of public-spirited citizens from Fort Bend County; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Organized during 1986-87 and representing a
    1-5  cross-section of the county's diverse population, the 50 members of
    1-6  Leadership 2000 and Leadership Fort Bend--who serve at nine-month
    1-7  intervals--are drawn from the Rosenberg/Richmond Area Chamber of
    1-8  Commerce and from the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce; they come from
    1-9  all walks of life--whether business, labor, religion, government,
   1-10  minority groups, civic organizations or professional fields; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The primary mission of Leadership 2000 and
   1-12  Leadership Fort Bend is to foster volunteer leadership in this
   1-13  rapidly-growing region of our state for community betterment and
   1-14  free exchange of suggestions for quality-of-life enhancement; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, While no particular commitment is ever asked of
   1-16  Leadership 2000 and Leadership Fort Bend graduates, it is
   1-17  anticipated that, upon completion of the program, they will
   1-18  contribute greatly to the area through their service in the
   1-19  respective chambers of commerce, in the city and county
   1-20  governments, or in numerous other worthy endeavors; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, We are indeed most fortunate to have the members of
   1-22  Leadership 2000 and Leadership Fort Bend visiting us in the capital
   1-23  city; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-2  Legislature, Regular Session, 1995, hereby recognize the many fine
    2-3  accomplishments of Leadership 2000 and Leadership Fort Bend on the
    2-4  occasion of their 1995 symposium in Austin.
