                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Windthorst High School Trojanettes girls'
    1-2  volleyball team again has achieved the pinnacle of success, winning
    1-3  the 1994 University Interscholastic League Class A championship to
    1-4  claim a phenomenal third consecutive state title; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, After a stellar regular season during which they won
    1-6  the district crown, the Trojanettes advanced through the playoffs,
    1-7  winning matches against Granger High School and state-ranked Water
    1-8  Valley High School to take their fifth straight regional title and
    1-9  secure a coveted trip to the state championship tournament in
   1-10  Austin; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Windthorst took the floor against Fort Davis High
   1-12  School, carrying with them the number one state ranking, which they
   1-13  had maintained all season, and truly looked the part of champions,
   1-14  cruising to a straight-set victory; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Facing a determined effort from Round Top-Carmine
   1-16  High School in the title matchup, the Trojanettes refused to be
   1-17  denied, coming from behind in dramatic fashion to fulfill their
   1-18  dream of a third consecutive Class A volleyball crown; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The season's remarkable accomplishments were a
   1-20  result of total commitment to the team concept by members Andrea
   1-21  Berend, Chelsey Berend, Mindy Berend, Stephanie Hoff, Kara
   1-22  Pennartz, Holly Schlumpf, Tessa Schreiber, Alisa Schroeder, Karen
   1-23  Schroeder, Misty Vieth, Nancy Wolf, Melinda York, Kim Zotz, Lara
   1-24  Conrady, and Amber Stewart; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Coaches Diane Conrady and Scotta Schroeder have
    2-2  consistently inspired their charges to compete at the highest level
    2-3  and by doing so have helped to create a volleyball dynasty; they
    2-4  have been ably assisted in their efforts by statistician Dana
    2-5  Ostermann and scorekeeper Candace Schreiber; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, This exemplary group of young women has been a
    2-7  source of great pride for the students and faculty at Windthorst
    2-8  High School and the team's loyal supporters in the community, and
    2-9  the team's extraordinary achievements indeed merit special
   2-10  legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   2-11        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-12  Legislature hereby congratulate the Windthorst High School
   2-13  Trojanettes girls' volleyball team on their 1994 UIL Class A state
   2-14  championship, the third consecutive year they have accomplished
   2-15  this remarkable goal, and extend to them best wishes for continued
   2-16  success in the future; and, be it further
   2-17        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-18  for the team members and coaching staff and that a copy be prepared
   2-19  for prominent display at Windthorst High School as an expression of
   2-20  high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
