                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Throughout his long and fruitful life, Henry G.
    1-2  Cheek consistently has devoted his efforts to enriching the lives
    1-3  of those around him; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Born in 1925, this outstanding patriot answered his
    1-5  country's call during the dark and uncertain days of World War II,
    1-6  serving with distinction in the United States Navy; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, In 1947 he took as his wife the former Juanita Gay
    1-8  Free, and their loving union was blessed with two fine daughters;
    1-9  the family's joy has been increased with the welcome addition of
   1-10  five grandchildren; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mr. Cheek has helped to meet the growing needs of
   1-12  his community through his career in construction management, and
   1-13  his considerable contributions in this vital area have truly
   1-14  created a positive difference for many of his fellow citizens; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, He now ably serves his fellowman as chairman of the
   1-16  board of Baker-Lain Cemetery and, when not seeing to the duties of
   1-17  that position, enjoys spending his leisure time hunting and
   1-18  fishing; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, This admirable gentleman continues to serve as an
   1-20  inspiration to all who have the pleasure of knowing him, and his
   1-21  lifetime of service to family, friends, and community is indeed
   1-22  worthy of special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-24  Legislature hereby commend Henry G. Cheek for his significant
    2-1  contributions to the betterment of his community and extend to him
    2-2  best wishes for continued happiness in the future; and, be it
    2-3  further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-5  prepared for Mr. Cheek as an expression of high regard by the Texas
    2-6  House of Representatives.
