No. 117 74R4746 SAJ-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Ann Barnham Wright for the many significant contributions she has 1-3 made to the Waxahachie business community through five decades in 1-4 the insurance industry; and 1-5 WHEREAS, On March 1, 1995, Mrs. Wright will join her 1-6 colleagues, family, and friends at a reception held in her honor at 1-7 the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, commemorating a half-century of 1-8 her outstanding commitment and service; and 1-9 WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Ellis County, she was born in 1-10 Nash and was graduated from Forreston High School; and 1-11 WHEREAS, She began her remarkable career as an employee of 1-12 Chance-Vaught during World War II and later went on to contribute 1-13 her wealth of expertise to the public sector as an employee of the 1-14 office of the Ellis County clerk; and 1-15 WHEREAS, On March 1, 1945, Mrs. Wright embarked on a 1-16 rewarding career in the insurance industry when she went to work 1-17 for John McElroy at McElroy Brothers Insurance Agency; in the 1-18 course of her distinguished tenure, she has capably served three 1-19 successive owners of this thriving company, which is now known as 1-20 Shank Insurance Agency; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Currently a licensed insurance solicitor, she has 1-22 been called on to perform a wide variety of tasks during her 1-23 service to the agency and has always performed her duties with the 1-24 integrity, attention to detail, and diligence that have 2-1 characterized her career since her first day of employment; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Throughout her many endeavors, she has enjoyed the 2-3 love and support of her husband of 42 years, Roy P. Wright, and the 2-4 happy couple are devout members of Heritage Baptist Church; and 2-5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Wright's high degree of professionalism and 2-6 genuine commitment to her work have been a great source of 2-7 inspiration to many people, and her noteworthy service truly merits 2-8 special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it 2-9 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-10 Legislature hereby honor Ann Barnham Wright for her outstanding 2-11 contributions to the Waxahachie business community and wish her 2-12 continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors; and, 2-13 be it further 2-14 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-15 prepared for Mrs. Wright as an expression of high regard by the 2-16 Texas House of Representatives.
