R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The recent passing of Gregory Pappas on Sunday,
1-2 February 5, 1995, at the age of 45, has brought a great loss to the
1-3 many friends and relatives of this highly respected Harris County
1-4 businessman; and
1-5 WHEREAS, A native Texan, this outstanding individual brought
1-6 his exceptional abilities to bear while successfully owning and
1-7 operating the Pappas restaurant firm with his family and helping
1-8 the Pappas family business grow to over 40 restaurants across the
1-9 state; his love and enthusiasm for the business is clearly seen in
1-10 his distinctive designs of Pappas' restaurants; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Gregory Pappas graduated from Texas A&M University
1-12 where he served as a member of the Corps of Cadets and was a proud
1-13 member of the former students association; and
1-14 WHEREAS, A man of deep and abiding religious conviction, he
1-15 demonstrated his faith as an active member of the Annunciation
1-16 Greek Orthodox Church; and
1-17 WHEREAS, Gregory Pappas was a man of rare dedication and
1-18 integrity; although his wisdom and compassion will be greatly
1-19 missed by all who knew him, his remarkable spirit will surely live
1-20 on in the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched during
1-21 his time on earth; now, therefore, be it
1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th
1-23 Legislature hereby honor the memory of Gregory Pappas and extend
2-1 sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his mother,
2-2 Mrs. James (Mary) Pappas; to his brother, Chris Pappas; to his
2-3 brother, Harris Pappas; to his sister, Victoria Giannukos; and to
2-4 the many other friends and relatives of this distinguished
2-5 gentleman; and, be it further
2-6 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
2-7 for the members of his family and that when the Texas House of
2-8 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gregory
2-9 Pappas.
