                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The golden wedding anniversary of two outstanding
    1-2  Texans is indeed a joyous occasion worthy of special legislative
    1-3  recognition; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, On February 18, 1995, Bill and Carol Lawless will
    1-5  celebrate 50 wonderful years together with a trip down memory lane
    1-6  at a 1940s USO-style celebration hosted by their family; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lawless were married on February 15,
    1-8  1945, and later settled in Hurst, where they have become popular
    1-9  and cherished members of the community; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Mr. Lawless enjoyed a rewarding career with the
   1-11  Texas Electric Service Company for 38 years and has served the
   1-12  greater community as a Democratic Party precinct chairman and as
   1-13  president of the Hurst Lions Club; a member of the Boy Scouts of
   1-14  America, he also has been recognized in the past by local Girl
   1-15  Scouts for his fine service in their behalf when he was awarded an
   1-16  honorary membership; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, His lovely wife, Carol, has won many loyal customers
   1-18  and countless friends through the successful beauty shop she has
   1-19  run from their inviting home for many years and also finds time to
   1-20  share her kindness and generosity with others as a regular
   1-21  participant in church and youth activities; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, The Lawlesses' marriage was blessed by the birth of
   1-23  three children, Terri Lynn, Cheryl Annette, and the late Larry Kent
   1-24  Lawless; over the years, their close-knit family has grown to
    2-1  include three beautiful grandchildren, Amie, Bryan, and Michael;
    2-2  and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lawless are avid bridge players and
    2-4  both have earned the noteworthy designation of Bronze Life Master
    2-5  in pursuing their mastery of this challenging game; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, For half a century, Bill and Carol Lawless have
    2-7  enjoyed a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy times
    2-8  and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of love,
    2-9  trust, and support, their marriage has indeed been a source of
   2-10  inspiration to the many friends and relatives of this fortunate
   2-11  couple; now, therefore, be it
   2-12        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-13  Legislature hereby congratulate Bill and Carol Lawless on the
   2-14  momentous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend
   2-15  warmest best wishes to them for continued success and happiness in
   2-16  the years to come; and, be it further
   2-17        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-18  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lawless as an expression of high regard
   2-19  by the Texas House of Representatives.
