                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Stafford High School has been awarded "recognized"
    1-2  status by the Central Education Agency for its overall excellence
    1-3  in academic achievement; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, This designation places Stafford High School among
    1-5  the top five percent of Texas schools and has earned the school
    1-6  statewide honors under the Texas Successful Schools Award System;
    1-7  and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Among the demanding criteria that must be met to
    1-9  attain this status are high school-wide attendance, a minimal
   1-10  dropout rate, and exceptional scores on both the TAAS and the SAT;
   1-11  and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Enhanced academic achievement is the goal of all
   1-13  schools statewide, and attaining special designation in the face of
   1-14  highly spirited, but healthy, competition among campuses is a
   1-15  remarkable feat; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The students and faculty at Stafford High School
   1-17  have performed admirably in their pursuit of academic excellence,
   1-18  and their notable achievements as recognized by the Central
   1-19  Education Agency are indeed worthy of special legislative
   1-20  recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature, Regular Session, 1995, hereby congratulate the
   1-23  students and faculty at Stafford High School on their school's
   1-24  designation as "recognized" by the Central Education Agency and
    2-1  extend to them best wishes for continued success in the future;
    2-2  and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-4  prepared for prominent display at Stafford High School as an
    2-5  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
