                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The passing of Olan R. Lundy on July 4, 1994, at the
    1-2  age of 67, has brought a great loss to the many friends and
    1-3  relatives of this esteemed gentleman and public servant; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Born October 24, 1926, in Miller County, Arkansas,
    1-5  this outstanding patriot answered his country's call to arms as a
    1-6  member of the U.S. Army, in which he served with distinction during
    1-7  the Korean conflict; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Mr. Lundy devoted much of his life to the service of
    1-9  his fellow citizens, working tirelessly during his productive
   1-10  22-year tenure as mayor of the city of Bloomburg to help ensure a
   1-11  brighter future for those in his community; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Spiritual strength was a hallmark of this exemplary
   1-13  gentleman's life, and he demonstrated his abiding faith as a deacon
   1-14  and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Bloomburg;
   1-15  and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Olan R. Lundy was a man of rare dedication and
   1-17  integrity; although his guidance and tireless devotion will be
   1-18  missed by all who knew him, his remarkable spirit will live on in
   1-19  the hearts of the many whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be
   1-20  it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Olan R. Lundy and
   1-23  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
   1-24  Mary Martha Grogan Lundy of Bloomburg; to his children, Lisa Lundy
    2-1  Smith of Longview and Lance Lundy of New Boston; to his sisters,
    2-2  Etoil Pyle of Bloomburg and Elois Kennedy of Hughes Springs; to his
    2-3  brother, Adrian Lundy of Bloomburg; to his grandchildren, Amanda
    2-4  Brooke Lundy of New Boston, Caroline Elizabeth Smith of Longview,
    2-5  and Jordan Alan Smith of Longview; and to the many other relatives
    2-6  and friends of this beloved gentleman; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-8  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
    2-9  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-10  Olan R.  Lundy.
