                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Willowridge High School Eagles boys' basketball
    1-2  team achieved the pinnacle of success during the 1993-1994 season
    1-3  by winning the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 5A
    1-4  championship; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Ranked as the number one 5A basketball team in the
    1-6  state, the Eagles took the floor at Austin's Frank C. Erwin Center
    1-7  against Plano East High School determined to live up to that lofty
    1-8  designation, and, although trailing at halftime, they demonstrated
    1-9  true championship spirit, winning the hard-fought contest 50-44 to
   1-10  claim the coveted title; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Led by Class 5A most valuable player Ansu Sesay, the
   1-12  Willowridge squad completed its dream season with a phenomenal
   1-13  record of 38 wins against only one defeat; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Inspiration and determined leadership were the
   1-15  hallmarks of head coach Gary Nichols, who schooled his charges in
   1-16  basketball fundamentals and ignited their desire to excel both
   1-17  individually and as a team; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, This exemplary group of young men and their coaches
   1-19  and staff have been a tremendous source of pride for the students
   1-20  and faculty at Willowridge High School and their many supporters in
   1-21  the community, and their exceptional achievements have rightfully
   1-22  earned them special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-24  Legislature, Regular Session, 1995, hereby congratulate head coach
    2-1  Gary Nichols and the Willowridge High School Eagles boys'
    2-2  basketball team on their 1994 UIL Class 5A championship and extend
    2-3  to them best wishes for continued success in the future; and, be it
    2-4  further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
    2-6  for the team members and coaching staff and that a copy be prepared
    2-7  for prominent display at Willowridge High School as an expression
    2-8  of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
