                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
    1-2  recognize the Plano East High School Panthers football team for its
    1-3  outstanding achievements during the 1994 season; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Exhibiting awesome talent and perseverance
    1-5  throughout the course of the 1994 campaign, the players and coaches
    1-6  can indeed take great pride and satisfaction in their efforts,
    1-7  which produced an undefeated regular season record and earned the
    1-8  team a berth in the University Interscholastic League Class 5A
    1-9  Division 2 State Championship playoffs; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, The Panthers downed their first two playoff
   1-11  opponents before bowing out in the third round of the tournament,
   1-12  completing the season with  an enviable record of 12 wins against
   1-13  only one defeat; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership of their coach, Scott
   1-15  Phillips, the Panthers defeated some of the most formidable
   1-16  football teams in the state; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, The Plano East Panthers' exceptional skills, team
   1-18  unity, and respect for the highest ideals of American sportsmanship
   1-19  have brought honor to the school and the community; now, therefore,
   1-20  be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby commend the Plano East High School Panthers
   1-23  football team for its exceptional accomplishments during the 1994
   1-24  season and extend best wishes for continued success; and, be it
    2-1  further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for the
    2-3  Plano East High School Panthers as an expression of high regard by
    2-4  the Texas House of Representatives.
