By Goolsby H.R. No. 200 74R6037 NBM-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Richard L. Ensweiler has been named the new 1-2 president and chief executive officer of the Texas Credit Union 1-3 League, and he brings to that position a wealth of knowledge and 1-4 experience that will surely benefit this fine organization; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A graduate of Lakeland College in Sheboygan, 1-6 Wisconsin, Mr. Ensweiler was commissioned a second lieutenant after 1-7 completing his studies at the Wisconsin Military Academy; he has 1-8 since become one of an increasing number of dedicated credit union 1-9 enthusiasts who has spent his entire professional career in the 1-10 credit union movement; and 1-11 WHEREAS, He began his long association with credit unions in 1-12 1959 as a student working part-time at State Central Credit Union 1-13 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; following his graduation from college, he 1-14 became a full-time employee of the institution until 1965, when he 1-15 accepted a position as treasurer/general manager of the 1-16 Harley-Davidson Credit Union in Milwaukee; and 1-17 WHEREAS, After later serving as a field representative for 1-18 the Michigan Credit Union League and as chief executive officer of 1-19 the Minnesota League of Credit Unions, this esteemed credit union 1-20 executive served for 10 years as president and chief executive 1-21 officer of the Illinois Credit Union League; in 1984, he became 1-22 senior vice president of corporate relations for the CUNA Mutual 1-23 Group, in which capacity he took on the challenging task of 1-24 managing the group's relationships with all state leagues and 2-1 national organizations; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Known throughout financial circles for his 2-3 professionalism, integrity, and business acumen, Mr. Ensweiler has 2-4 held leadership positions in numerous professional organizations, 2-5 including the Association of Credit Union League Executives, the 2-6 U.S. Central Credit Union, and the Credit Union Legislative Action 2-7 Committee; he holds designations as both a certified credit union 2-8 executive and a certified association executive, and he also serves 2-9 as a development educator; and 2-10 WHEREAS, Mr. Ensweiler has earned the respect and admiration 2-11 of his many colleagues in the credit union business, and his long 2-12 and distinguished record in this growing field will undoubtedly 2-13 extend to his latest position with the Texas Credit Union League; 2-14 now, therefore, be it 2-15 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-16 Legislature hereby congratulate Richard L. Ensweiler on his new 2-17 position as president and chief executive officer of the Texas 2-18 Credit Union League and extend to Richard and Judy Ensweiler a warm 2-19 welcome to the Lone Star State; and, be it further 2-20 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-21 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ensweiler as an expression of high regard 2-22 by the Texas House of Representatives.
