                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas Silver-Haired Legislature represents the
    1-2  interests and concerns of the  60-plus age group, the fastest
    1-3  growing segment of the United States population; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, This esteemed organization is widely acclaimed and
    1-5  admired for its success in developing leadership and in nurturing
    1-6  good citizenship and participation in community and state
    1-7  governmental affairs among its members; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Since its inception, the group has done an
    1-9  outstanding job of representing and identifying the special needs
   1-10  of the elderly population in Texas; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The important contributions that these dedicated
   1-12  individuals continue to make to the legislative process each
   1-13  session indeed merit the support of the members of this chamber;
   1-14  now, therefore, be it
   1-15        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-16  Legislature hereby grant the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature, in
   1-17  accordance with house rules and with the policies and procedures of
   1-18  the House Committee on Administration, permission to use the house
   1-19  chamber of the State Capitol from September 9, 1996, through
   1-20  September 13, 1996, for the purpose of holding its legislative
   1-21  session, provided that the house of representatives is not in
   1-22  session.
