                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Patricia Bass has been named 1994-95 Teacher of the
    1-2  Year by her peers in Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA)
    1-3  District 5, and this special recognition is indeed well deserved;
    1-4  and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A popular marketing education instructor at Del
    1-6  Valle High School, Ms. Bass was selected to receive this singular
    1-7  honor from among a distinguished field of more than 55 marketing
    1-8  education teachers representing 38 school districts from across the
    1-9  state; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Since joining the Del Valle faculty in 1992, this
   1-11  talented classroom instructor has gained a loyal following among
   1-12  her 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students for her proven ability to
   1-13  make the learning process fun while providing them with the skills
   1-14  they need to one day assume rewarding careers in the business
   1-15  world; and
   1-16        WHEREAS,  She also has earned the respect and admiration of
   1-17  her colleagues for her expertise in helping her students achieve a
   1-18  solid understanding of the retailing, merchandising, and
   1-19  wholesaling concepts that comprise an essential component of a
   1-20  strong distributive education program; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Bass
   1-22  imparts valuable life skills as a teacher of teen parenting classes
   1-23  at the local high school and alternative high school, ensuring that
   1-24  this vital responsibility receives the serious attention it
    2-1  deserves; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, Patricia Bass is a gifted educator whose dedication
    2-3  to her profession and significant contributions to the welfare of
    2-4  others have greatly benefitted her community, and she is indeed
    2-5  deserving of special praise and legislative recognition on the
    2-6  occasion of her most recent achievement; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-8  Legislature hereby congratulate Patricia Bass on being named
    2-9  1994-95 DECA District 5 Teacher of the Year and extend to her
   2-10  sincere best wishes for continued happiness and success in the
   2-11  future; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for Ms. Bass as an expression of high regard by the Texas
   2-14  House of Representatives.
