No. 269 74R6303 BNL-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 1-2 who have shared more than six decades of happy and rewarding 1-3 marriage is truly a joyous occasion worthy of special praise and 1-4 recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Holman and Genevieve Murray Cox will have the 1-6 privilege of commemorating such an event in their lives when they 1-7 celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on March 15, 1995; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Both Mr. and Mrs. Cox were reared in San Antonio and 1-9 were married on March 15, 1930, in Crockett, but soon returned to 1-10 San Antonio to make their home and rear their children; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Their marriage was blessed with both a son, Mark, 1-12 and a daughter, Ivy, and in recent years their close-knit family 1-13 has grown to include three grandchildren, Patricia, Randy, and 1-14 Robert, and three great-grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, and Pamela, 1-15 all of whom are a source of great joy and delight to the Coxes; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Mrs. Cox was employed for many years as a school 1-17 district secretary in San Antonio before her retirement, while 1-18 Mr. Cox worked for the postal service and served his community as a 1-19 minister; Mr. Cox also previously expressed his faith through his 1-20 missionary work in Mexico, and he currently acts as an elder at 1-21 Trinity Church in Windcrest; and 1-22 WHEREAS, For more than half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Cox have 1-23 shared a strong marriage filled with many happy times and cherished 1-24 family memories; built on a solid foundation of mutual love and 2-1 respect, their remarkable 65-year union has been an inspiration to 2-2 their family and friends and is indeed worthy of highest praise and 2-3 recognition; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby congratulate Holman and Genevieve Murray Cox on 2-6 the occasion of their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them 2-7 warmest best wishes for continued happiness in the future; and, be 2-8 it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cox as an expression of high regard by 2-11 the Texas House of Representatives.
