                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Reverend Joe Goudeaux will commemorate his 100th
    1-2  birthday on March 4, 1995, at a party held in his honor at Mt.
    1-3  Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, and to his family and many
    1-4  delighted friends, this event promises to be a truly joyous and
    1-5  memorable occasion; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, He was born March 10, 1895, in Bunkie, Louisiana,
    1-7  and moved to Beaumont in 1928, where he first made a name for
    1-8  himself as a construction worker; a skilled entrepreneur as well,
    1-9  he later enjoyed a rewarding venture in the lawn-care business; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Reverend Goudeaux began preaching the word of the
   1-11  Lord in 1930, and in the course of his work in the Christian
   1-12  ministry he has provided comfort and religious support to countless
   1-13  individuals; he currently receives his spiritual strength as a
   1-14  devout member of Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Throughout his many endeavors, he has enjoyed the
   1-16  love and support of his charming and gracious wife, Ella Mae; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, This exceptional gentleman has been a source of
   1-18  strength and inspiration to the many people whose lives he has
   1-19  touched, and he has earned a special place in the hearts of all who
   1-20  are privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend Joe Goudeaux on the
   1-23  occasion of his 100th birthday and extend to him warmest best
   1-24  wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-2  prepared for Reverend Goudeaux as an expression of high regard by
    2-3  the Texas House of Representatives.
