                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, On March 7, 1995, Virginia Yvonne Miller will
    1-2  celebrate her 60th birthday, and to her many devoted friends and
    1-3  family members, the event is indeed a joyous occasion worthy of
    1-4  special recognition; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A native Texan, she was born to George and Virginia
    1-6  West on March 7, 1935, in the community of Ballinger, and moved
    1-7  with her family shortly thereafter to Odessa, where she spent her
    1-8  childhood; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The only girl in her family, she learned early on
   1-10  the nurturing ways she continues to exhibit today, and her loving
   1-11  nature has earned her a special place in the hearts of all who have
   1-12  been privileged to share her friendship and affection through the
   1-13  years; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Beloved by her brothers, Representative G. E.
   1-15  "Buddy" West and Joe West, she also has been blessed with a fine
   1-16  family of her own; the cherished wife of Herbert E. Miller, Jr.,
   1-17  whom she married on June 6, 1952, she is the mother of Joe and
   1-18  Julie Miller, and the doting grandmother of Jody Miller, Joshua
   1-19  Miller, and Mitchell Parnell; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, For many years, this remarkable woman gave
   1-21  generously of her time and talents to serve as the secretary of the
   1-22  First Baptist Church of Big Spring, while managing to keep a lovely
   1-23  home that has always served as a welcome retreat to the members of
   1-24  her close-knit family; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, An excellent seamstress and interior decorator,
    2-2  Mrs. Miller's appreciation for beauty is rivalled by her interest
    2-3  in family history, which she has helped to preserve for both the
    2-4  present and future generations of her family through her tireless
    2-5  archival efforts; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, Virginia Yvonne Miller is a treasured member of her
    2-7  community whose kindness, warmth, and generosity have touched the
    2-8  lives of countless people, and it is a privilege to recognize her
    2-9  at this time; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-11  Legislature hereby congratulate Virginia Yvonne Miller on the happy
   2-12  occasion of her 60th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes
   2-13  for continued good fortune in the coming years; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-15  prepared for Mrs. Miller as an expression of high regard by the
   2-16  Texas House of Representatives.
