R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Coralia Schotz was recently honored in a
1-2 "Celebration of Life" reception held at the Rebekah Baines Johnson
1-3 Retirement Center as one of a number of remarkable women ranging in
1-4 age from 90 to 98 who have not only lived life, but have embraced
1-5 it to the fullest; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Born on March 24, 1901, in San Salvador, El
1-7 Salvador, she visited Mexico as a young woman and met a German
1-8 mining engineer, whom she later married; the couple traveled
1-9 extensively throughout Mexico during their long and rewarding life
1-10 together and their marriage was blessed by the birth of eight
1-11 children; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Her oldest son, who distinguished himself as a
1-13 member of the U.S. Army, brought his family to the United States
1-14 in 1946, where they have continued to make a home for themselves in
1-15 the ensuing years; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Mrs. Schotz's caring nature, talent in the kitchen,
1-17 and love of beautiful flowers has always made her home a welcome
1-18 retreat for her many friends and family members; when asked what
1-19 advice she would pass on to the younger generation, Mrs. Schotz
1-20 responded with these words, "Be nice with your family. Keep family
1-21 values and traditions," a philosophy that has endeared her to all
1-22 who have had the privilege to share her love throughout the years;
1-23 and
1-24 WHEREAS, Coralia Schotz is a beloved member of her community
2-1 whose kindness, warmth, and generosity have touched the lives of
2-2 countless people, and it is a privilege to recognize her at this
2-3 time; now, therefore, be it
2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
2-5 Legislature hereby honor Coralia Schotz and extend warmest best
2-6 wishes to her for continued good fortune and happiness; and, be it
2-7 further
2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-9 prepared for Mrs. Schotz as an expression of highest regard by the
2-10 Texas House of Representatives.
