                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Mrs. Minnie "Lucile" Hardy will celebrate her 100th
    1-2  birthday on March 20, 1995, at a party in her honor, and to her
    1-3  family and many delighted friends, this event promises to be a
    1-4  truly joyous and memorable occasion; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A native Houstonian, she wed Charles Arlie Hardy
    1-6  when she was a young woman, and the couple enjoyed an exceptionally
    1-7  happy and rewarding 75-year union that was blessed by the birth of
    1-8  four cherished children; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Mrs. Hardy resided in Houston for 96 years before
   1-10  moving to Round Rock and has been well regarded in both communities
   1-11  as a devoted wife, a loving parent, and a loyal friend and neighbor
   1-12  who always finds time in her busy day to offer fellowship to
   1-13  others; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, She is dearly loved by all who have come to know her
   1-15  for her energetic and lively spirit and continues to enjoy a
   1-16  variety of leisure time pursuits; an accomplished musician,
   1-17  Mrs. Hardy studied piano in her youth, and throughout the years,
   1-18  has nurtured an abiding love of music, singing, and dancing; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, In addition, she enjoys the fellowship and
   1-20  excitement of a spirited bingo game in the company of her many
   1-21  friends; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Over the years, Mrs. Hardy's close-knit family has
   1-23  continued to grow, and she now enjoys the company of nine
   1-24  grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-
    2-1  grandchildren; blessed by the friendship of others, her extended
    2-2  "family" also includes many residents of Hearthstone of Round Rock,
    2-3  where she has made her home for the past four years; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, The qualities that have endeared her to so many
    2-5  emanate from a deep religious faith, which she has eloquently
    2-6  expressed as a devout member of the United Methodist Church, and
    2-7  she remains active in a variety of church activities; and
    2-8        WHEREAS, Throughout her many rewarding years, this gracious
    2-9  lady has brought joy and happiness to the many people whose lives
   2-10  she has touched; a much-admired member of her community, Mrs. Hardy
   2-11  has earned the special love and affection of all who are privileged
   2-12  to know her; now, therefore, be it
   2-13        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-14  Legislature hereby honor Minnie "Lucile" Hardy and extend warmest
   2-15  congratulations to this lovely lady on the occasion of her 100th
   2-16  birthday; and, be it further
   2-17        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-18  prepared for Mrs. Hardy as an expression of high regard by the
   2-19  Texas House of Representatives.
