                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The passing of Hal Bradley Gallop, at the age of 38,
    1-2  has brought a great loss to the many friends and relatives of this
    1-3  esteemed Tyler resident; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Born April 23, 1956, in Paragould, Arkansas, he was
    1-5  graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro with a
    1-6  bachelor's degree in journalism and public relations; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Mr. Gallop was actively involved in the Boy Scouts
    1-8  of America as a youth, earning the rank of Eagle Scout and
    1-9  membership in the Order of the Arrow, and he retained his love of
   1-10  the scouting movement as an adult; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Determined to make the joys of scouting accessible
   1-12  to as many young men as possible, this exceptional individual
   1-13  served as a professional Scout for more than 13 years, bringing his
   1-14  expertise and dedication to bear in such demanding positions as
   1-15  district executive for the East Arkansas Council and senior
   1-16  district executive of the East Texas Area Council; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, For his many accomplishments in behalf of the Boy
   1-18  Scouts, Mr. Gallop was given the National Distinguished Service
   1-19  Award, the highest national accolade that the scouting movement can
   1-20  bestow; he also was honored by the Tejas Lodge of the Order of the
   1-21  Arrow with the Founder's Award in 1989; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Hal Bradley Gallop was a man of rare dedication and
   1-23  compassion; although his warmth and wisdom will be greatly missed
   1-24  by all who knew him, his remarkable spirit will live on in the
    2-1  hearts of the many people whose lives he touched; now, therefore,
    2-2  be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-4  Legislature hereby honor the life of Hal Bradley Gallop and extend
    2-5  sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his mother, June
    2-6  Holley Gallop; to his grandparents, the Reverend and Mrs. Hal W.
    2-7  Gallop, Sr.,  and Mrs. Essie M. Holley; and to the many other
    2-8  friends and relatives of this esteemed gentleman; and, be it
    2-9  further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-11  for members of his family and that when the Texas House of
   2-12  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hal
   2-13  Bradley Gallop.
