                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, On March 18, 1995, Zara L. Robinson-Davis will be
    1-2  joined by her many friends and relatives to celebrate her 87th
    1-3  birthday, and that event is indeed a joyous occasion worthy of
    1-4  special celebration; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A native Texan, she was born February 29, 1908, in
    1-6  Eagle Lake, and, appropriately for a child born on that most rare
    1-7  of nativity dates, this outstanding individual has been bestowed
    1-8  with an uncommon ability to bring happiness to others; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, In her youth, she met and married Lemuel Henry
   1-10  Davis, her beloved husband with whom she shared nearly 60 years of
   1-11  matrimonial happiness, and their union was blessed with three
   1-12  daughters, Ollie Mae Jackson, Rosetta Jean Davis, and Iva Jewel
   1-13  Price; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. and Mrs. Davis's family was
   1-15  blessed by the welcome addition of seven grandchildren:  George
   1-16  Lemuel Jackson, Auretta Smith, Chadwick Jackson, Cheryl Jordan,
   1-17  Hunter Price, Jr., Johnson Tramell Price, and Lemuel Henry Price;
   1-18  and this close-knit family's joy has been increased by the presence
   1-19  of 12 great-grandchildren, who share a boundless affection for
   1-20  Mrs. Davis; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, The birthday of Mrs. Robinson-Davis provides a
   1-22  fitting opportunity for her family and friends to share with this
   1-23  lovely lady a small bit of the joy and happiness she has imparted
   1-24  to all who have experienced her love and friendship throughout the
    2-1  years; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-3  Legislature hereby extend warmest congratulations to Zara L.
    2-4  Robinson-Davis on the occasion of her 87th birthday and warmest
    2-5  best wishes for continued happiness in the future; and, be it
    2-6  further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-8  prepared for Mrs. Davis as an expression of high regard by the
    2-9  Texas House of Representatives.
