                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The members of the Ponderosa Volunteer Fire
    1-2  Department have labored tirelessly to serve the safety needs of
    1-3  their community; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Fire is among the most perilous of natural
    1-5  disasters, striking quickly and, if unchecked, often with tragic
    1-6  consequences, and those who place themselves in harm's way to
    1-7  minimize a fire's potentially disastrous effects perform a
    1-8  hazardous and invaluable service; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Volunteer fire departments provide a much-needed
   1-10  first line of defense in many areas, containing or extinguishing
   1-11  fires that might otherwise become blazing infernos; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Located near Spring, Texas, the Ponderosa Volunteer
   1-13  Fire Department maintains the highest possible level of
   1-14  preparedness, with members giving freely of their time and energies
   1-15  to protect their fellow citizens; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The members of the Ponderosa Volunteer Fire
   1-17  Department exemplify the finest traits of human behavior,
   1-18  selflessly risking life and limb to preserve lives and property in
   1-19  their community, and it is indeed appropriate that they be given
   1-20  special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby honor the Ponderosa Volunteer Fire Department
   1-23  for its many outstanding accomplishments in providing for the
   1-24  safety needs of its community; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-2  prepared for the members of the Ponderosa Volunteer Fire Department
    2-3  as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
    2-4  Representatives.
