                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
    1-2  who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a
    1-3  memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Glen and Mera Cox recently had the privilege of
    1-5  commemorating one such momentous event in their lives when they
    1-6  celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on March 13, 1995, with
    1-7  a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they were joined by their many
    1-8  friends and relatives; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, United in marriage in Frederick, Oklahoma, in 1945,
   1-10  the couple have enjoyed an enduring relationship that has grown in
   1-11  love and mutual respect with each passing year; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Making their home in several locales throughout the
   1-13  state before settling in Goldthwaite, the Coxes have been welcome
   1-14  and hardworking members of each community in which they have
   1-15  resided; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Mr. Cox worked with Staley Brothers for five years
   1-17  and enjoyed a rewarding 35-year association with Exxon U.S.A.; his
   1-18  lovely and gracious wife, Mera, is well known throughout the
   1-19  community for her successful career as manager of Pepper Tree and
   1-20  Garden Apartments, and she also worked at Midland Airport; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Mr. Cox is the son of D. T. and Beatrice Cox, and
   1-22  his wife is the daughter of Sam and JoEmma McEuen; Mr. and Mrs. Cox
   1-23  are the parents of two beloved children, Rick Cox and Glenda Lemke;
   1-24  and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Over the years, their close-knit family has
    2-2  continued to grow, and they now enjoy the company of their
    2-3  children's spouses, Linda Cox and Doran Lemke, and four cherished
    2-4  grandchildren, Kara Lemke, Chris Cox, Chase Cox, and Carrie Cox;
    2-5  and
    2-6        WHEREAS, For half a century, Glen and Mera Cox have shared a
    2-7  strong and lasting union filled with many happy times and cherished
    2-8  family memories; built on a foundation of mutual love, trust, and
    2-9  support, their life together has been a source of joy and
   2-10  inspiration to the many friends and relatives of this fortunate
   2-11  couple; now, therefore, be it
   2-12        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-13  Legislature hereby congratulate Glen and Mera Cox on the occasion
   2-14  of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best
   2-15  wishes for continued joy and happiness; and, be it further
   2-16        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-17  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cox as an expression of high regard by
   2-18  the Texas House of Representatives.
