H.R. No. 477 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Girl Scouts of America, founded in 1912, is part 1-2 of a worldwide organization dedicated to training young women in 1-3 responsible citizenship, good conduct, and outdoor activities; and 1-4 WHEREAS, The Tejas Girl Scout Council is a respected member 1-5 of this association and represents girls from local troops in 20 1-6 Texas counties; and 1-7 WHEREAS, This year the Tejas Girl Scout Council will host a 1-8 statewide recognition ceremony for members who have earned the 1-9 highest award in girl scouting, the Girl Scout Gold Award; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives heartily endorses 1-11 the goals and objectives of the Girl Scouts of America and applauds 1-12 the Tejas Girl Scout Council for sponsoring this special 1-13 recognition ceremony; now, therefore, be it 1-14 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 1-15 Legislature hereby grant the Tejas Girl Scout Council permission to 1-16 use the house chamber, provided that the house is not in session 1-17 and subject to house rules and policies of the Committee on House 1-18 Administration, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 12, 1995, for the 1-19 purpose of conducting a statewide ceremony honoring young women who 1-20 have earned the Girl Scout Gold Award.
