                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Alison Bradley recently was selected to participate
    1-2  in the Empowering Teen Leaders (ETL) program, an innovative
    1-3  training course established by The Texas A&M University System and
    1-4  the Texas Agricultural Extension Service to develop leadership and
    1-5  citizenship skills in young Texans; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, An outstanding student who has demonstrated
    1-7  maturity, leadership potential, and genuine concern for the future
    1-8  of her community, Ms. Bradley will take part in a comprehensive,
    1-9  two-month training course that is designed to give her the
   1-10  networking, communication, and organization skills she needs to
   1-11  become an effective civic leader; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Houston Area Outreach Coalition,
   1-13  Inc., in conjunction with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service
   1-14  and The Texas A&M University System, the ETL curriculum encourages
   1-15  students to solve community problems by building coalitions and
   1-16  consensus among concerned citizens; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, In addition to this intensive training, the
   1-18  Empowering Teen Leaders program provides young Texans with the
   1-19  opportunity to learn about our state's legislative process and to
   1-20  work with members of the Texas Legislature; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, The skills Ms. Bradley learns in this remarkable
   1-22  program will enable her to fulfill her vision of making a
   1-23  difference in the lives of those around her; as part of the
   1-24  Empowering Teen Leaders program, she will devote countless hours
    2-1  toward the development and execution of community service projects;
    2-2  and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Ms. Bradley is without doubt one of the Lone Star
    2-4  State's leaders of tomorrow, displaying dedication, integrity, and
    2-5  compassion, and her many contributions to her community and to her
    2-6  state are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition and
    2-7  support; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-9  Legislature hereby commend Alison Bradley on her participation in
   2-10  the Empowering Teen Leaders program and extend to her warmest best
   2-11  wishes for continued success in the years to come; and, be it
   2-12  further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-14  prepared for Ms. Bradley as an expression of high regard by the
   2-15  Texas House of Representatives.
