                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, April 14, 1995, is a day of special significance for
    1-2  Frankie Renee Jordan, for on this day she will celebrate her 78th
    1-3  birthday; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mrs. Jordan has dedicated her life
    1-5  to her family and her community, and in doing so she has
    1-6  exemplified the traits of hard work, integrity, and community
    1-7  service that have made our state thrive; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, For many years, she enjoyed a deeply rewarding
    1-9  relationship with her late husband, Johnnie L. Jordan, Sr., whom
   1-10  she married on September 2, 1936; their devotion to each other and
   1-11  their unwavering commitment to their marriage was a source of great
   1-12  joy and inspiration to their family and many friends; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Mrs. Jordan can take particular pride in the warm
   1-14  and loving home life that she provided for her children, Barbara
   1-15  Faye Jordan Wiggins, Johnnye Frances Jordan Ridley, Johnnie
   1-16  Lafayette Jordan, Jr., and the late Joyce Marie Jordan Huckaby; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Her family now includes four grandchildren, Homer
   1-18  Jerome Jordan, Sr., Shawna Renee Wiggins, Dr. Melonie Racheal
   1-19  Dutton, and Meko George, all of whom regard their grandmother with
   1-20  great warmth and affection; in recent years, she welcomed into the
   1-21  family her first great-grandchild, Homer Jerome Jordan, Jr., and he
   1-22  is a continuing source of pride and delight to Mrs. Jordan; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Not content to enjoy a sedentary lifestyle, this
   1-24  remarkable woman has taken up painting in the past few years, and
    2-1  she quickly won great acclaim for her artistic talent; some of her
    2-2  works have already been publicly displayed, and the members of her
    2-3  community are awaiting a second exhibit that is scheduled for
    2-4  summer 1995; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, Frankie Renee Jordan is truly an outstanding Texan
    2-6  who has contributed greatly to her community and to the Lone Star
    2-7  State, and her many achievements are indeed deserving of special
    2-8  praise and recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   2-10  Legislature hereby honor Frankie Renee Jordan on the joyous
   2-11  occasion of her 78th birthday and extend to her warmest best wishes
   2-12  for many more years of continued happiness; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-14  prepared for Mrs. Jordan as an expression of high regard by the
   2-15  Texas House of Representatives.
